-What are your candles made of?

RIBBON CANDLES:

Our ribbon candles are made of a highly refined food grade paraffin wax, which is completely safe to burn (to read more, click *here*). To color our candles, we use pigment-not dyes. Rest assured, your candle colors will not bleed together over time. 

LUXE SOY:

Our luxe soy line is made with 100% American Soy Wax, and wood wicks from trees in American orchards that can no longer produce fruit. We use paraben and phthalate-free fragrances because we love the rich smells they put off, making it "not your grandmother's fake-smelling cinnamon bun" candle. We source carefully, because we like the planet. 

-Why do your ribbon candles look like glass?

Our candles are finished with an outer acrylic wax glaze, preserving your images and sentiments on the candle. To maintain this appearance, keep out of direct sunlight (or the glaze will yellow over time) and dust lightly with a linen or soft cloth periodically.

-Can I burn my candle?

Of course! And we highly encourage you to do so. Candles are consumables, and we'd hate for it to get dusty and discarded over it's lifetime. 

As our candles burn, the flame "tunnels" down the center, making the candle glow from the inside out. Please follow included burning instructions. 

-How long do these candles take to make?

Core pouring takes about a day, but the actual candle carving: about 15 minutes, start to finish. A pointed wax core is warmed in wax, layers of color are dipped on, and it is then carved into exceptionally elegant designs. After a 24 hour cool, it's ready to burn.

-Can I have you make a candle in a design I've seen elsewhere?

Kat's Candle Co., and The Candle Shoppe have created signature designs for the last 50 years to create visually pleasing, gorgeous candles. Other chandlers (candle makers) have done the same. We will not recreate a unique design by another chandler. We're happy to carve one of our signature candle designs, but if you have a trademarked or copyrighted theme, we ask that you stick to legally licensed images. 

-I had my eye on a Kat's Candle Design-why don't I see it on your website?

We're getting there! Please message with any custom requests, we're happy to recreate one-off candle designs of any kind.

-My wedding was ages ago, and a move/kids playdate/cat incident broke my candle! Can you help?

We're happy to replace your keepsake. We offer a discount for replacements + shipping. Please email photo of damaged/broken candle, and have your order number and list of customizations handy (we will only replace the original item's exact style/color/text. No changies!). We will email you with a custom code for purchase. We do not guarantee an exact color match for candle sets.
